As I said, we are going to be in a trio until the end of the transfer. Working in a trio is quite different, and can be frustrating at times too, but it has been great so far! Our area is much bigger now too, so there is a lot of work to do! This week we were able to mark 4 baptismal dates, and were able to see the Lord blessing and helping us.
On Monday night, we taught Felipe again. He is going to be baptized this Saturday! (the 8th) We are all so excited for him to make these sacred covenants with the Lord.
We also taught Lucas and Bianca on Monday. Their baptismal and marriage date for the 15th is still strong and firm. We are excited for them also.
On Thursday, we taught a man named Sydnei. He is about 50 years old, and lives with his wife. While his wife isn´t interested right now, we taught him the restoration. On Thursday, we went back with the intent of marking a date for him. We taught more about the Book of Mormon and Prophets, and at the end of the lesson we invited him to be baptized on the 22nd of April. He happily accepted! We are all happy for him and happy with his progress and intent. We also knew he had problems with drinking coffee, so at the end of the lesson, we gave him a pamphlet of the Word of Wisdom so he could start reading. On Saturday, we stopped by his house to go to conference with him. As we were walking, he gladly told us that he hadn´t drunk coffee that morning! He was so happy and proud, and so were we! We hadn´t even taught him the Word of Wisdom, but he has already started living it. He has so much potential, and has a lot of real intent!
On Friday, we taught a woman named Emanuele. She is about 25 years old, and lives with her daughter. She hasn´t gone to a church for a while, but we found her while knocking doors, and were able to teach her. We read in 3 Nephi 11 with her, and the spirit was strong as we read about the atonement of Jesus Christ. We invited her to be baptized on the 22nd of April also, and she accepted! She has shown a lot of real intent, and we have faith the Heavenly Father will give her an answer to her prayers.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, we had more meetings in Curitiba. President talked a lot about the Book of Mormon, and how the Book of Mormon gives testimony of perhaps the three most important things in this Gospel.
1. That Jesus is the Christ, and Savior of the world
2. That Joseph Smith was a prophet called of God to restore the church
3. That this is the true church of God reestablish here in Earth preceding the Second Coming.
I spent a lot of time pondering these things this week while reading the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon truly does testify of these three things.
What a conference right?! One of my favorite conferences I have seen! Conference is always a huge excitement for missionaries, and it was a great experience to learn, and feel the spirit. I really liked Elder Stevensons talk about the Holy Ghost. I have rededicated myself to follow every little prompting of the Holy Ghost. I hope you all felt the spirit as I did. President Monson is called of God; Jesus is the Christ, and lives; this is the restored and true Gospel. Love you all! Have and awesome week!
