Bom dia todos!! How is everyone! We sure are great, and happy here! The work was great this week, with lots of rain, and lots of sun! It is still blazing hot here, but has started to cool down a bit.
Starting with last Monday, we were able to teach Rosnir. He also had Elder Joglar cut his hair! A bit awkward, but a great experience. Unfortunately we are going to have to move his baptismal date for the 25th. We felt like we were rushing him a bit, and we want to make sure he really understands the gospel, especially the Atonement. Lately we have received many trainings that talk about how our purpose here as missionaries is to "Teach repentance and baptize converts" Repentance is critical in the gospel. The fact that we can be better tomorrow than we are today is the good news of the Gospel. We want to take a little more time helping him truly understand the importance and meaning of repentance. However, he is still happy and excited! Hah every week he makes an announcement on the radio saying our names and saying how he knows this church is true! He is awesome!
On Tuesday, we taught a woman named Sonha. She was originally a contact that we made, and we marked a day to visit her. We were able to teach her about the restoration. We challenged her to baptism, and she accepted. We also marked a date to return, and we actually returned last Saturday. We introduced her to the Book of Mormon. Elder Joglar and I have decided that we are going to try to use the Book of Mormon more. It was one of the first tools in missionary work, and it is still the best tool for missionary work. It is essencial in conversion. We presented the Book of Mormon to her, she accepted, and accepted the passage we left for her to read. We also marked a baptismal date with her! For the 11th of March! We are praying, hoping, and have faith that she will be ready by then.
Wednesday and Thursday, I made the two hour trek to Curitiba for a meeting. It was awesome, and I was able to see my old companions from the MTC! It was great to see them again, and they are both doing well.
On Saturday we found 6 new investigators! We are working very effectively here, and it is a great feeling to know that we are giving it our all. I think we truly are able to recognize that when we work hard forget oursleves, we truly become happier. This next Saturday we have the opportunity to go to the temple! It is always an amazing experience as a missionary, and my love for the temple has grown a ton!
I found a list of phrases this week that I really liked.. I have been trying to apply this in my life, and it has made a good difference!
-Obedience is the price
-Faith is the power
-Love is the motive
-The spirit is key
-Christ is the reason
Everything is well here, and I am happy here serving the Lord. Hope everyone is well, happy, and enjoying life back home! LOVE YOU ALL!!!
