28. Carnival!

Wow last week in the transfer here! The time has flown by! This week was awesome! We have been pretty busy, but it has been rewarding! As this week has been Carnival, there hasn´t been many people here. Most people travel to the beach or to other cities where they celebrate it. Those of you who aren´t familiar with Carnival, it is basically just a week long party. Luckily here close to our house not many people celebrate it, so we were able to continue working, but also it was hard to find people, hah! So there was lots of contacting this week.

On Saturday we were actually able to teach Maria. She is the woman with the baptismal date for the 11th. We are going to have to move the date, but it was awesome. At the end of our visit, she told us she wasn´t going to be able to go to church on Sunday because she was going to work, but she asked us if she could come the next week! She is great, and it is awesome seeing her progress. She also has some children who are at her house every now and then, so we are able to teach them also. This family is so amazing, and truly has been prepared to hear this gospel!

Funny story of the week! On Thursday we were at the church teaching Rosnir. It suddenly started to pour rain. It was dumping rain for about an hour straight, when the power suddenly went out. We went to check quickly the power box in the back of the church. When we got to the back of the church, there was tons of water that had entered, at least a few inches. We weren't able to get the power back on, and we turned around, Rosnir wasn´t with us. We both kind of panicked as Rosnir has already told us that he HATES the dark. We quickly tried to look for him, and found him sitting down frightened on the floor. He was almost in tears as he looked up and asked us why we left him hahah! He is such a sincere and sweet man!

Yesterday lots of our investigators weren´t able to make it to church because a lot of them have been traveling, however we had two less actives who made it! We are going to visit a less active tonight, and teach the restoration to her husband who isn´t a member. Working with the less actives is great to find other investigators!

All is well here in Samambaia! And we are both hoping that we can stay for the next transfer, but also we know that where the Lord sends us is where he needs us!

Love you all!

96. I'll Never Be the Same

Hey everyone!  The past few months/weeks, I have received lots of questions like, "Joe, what did you get out of your mission?"...
