27. Temple!

Hey everyone!! How are all yáll doing? This was an awesome week, and extra special because we got to go to the temple on Saturday. The temple is beautiful! (See pictures) This week was super hot. Definitely the hottest I have ever felt. Every day being soaked in sweat, is a good feeling knowing that we are working hard in the Lord´s vineyard!! We walk with umbrellas to give us a little shade, and every morning I have to load up on the sunblock to not get fried, but the work is amazing here! And the people are too!

On Tuesday, we were invited to teach an English class in a school. On Sunday we made a contact on the road, with a man named Luis. He started talking English with me, and invited me to teach his students. We confirmed with President that it was something we could do, and it was a great experience. We also invited the teacher to church, and he made it yesterday! We are going to teach him this week, and challenge him to baptism!

On Wednesday I had a division with Elder Pinheiro! He as an awesome Elder who arrived in the same group as me. It was great catching up on old times in the MTC. He also introduced me to Tereré and Chimarrão. They are these types of herbal tea that people drink here. It is really good, and definitely one of the better drinks here!

On Friday we went to Matinhos. It is about an hour away, but the sisters there had a baptism, so we had to do an interview with the investigator. Matinhos is the part of Paranaguá ward that is on the beach, so we were able to see the beach and take some photos. It is much better in person, but the pics turned out somewhat okay!

Back to the temple.. The temple is amazing, and I definitely feel super blessed that we have a place where we can feel so close to our Father in Heaven. Everything in the temple testifies of the sacrifice of our Savior Jesus Christ, so we can feel his presence in the temple. It was an awesome and nourishing experience.

Unfortunately we had to move the date of Rosnir to the 5th of March, because he is going to travel with his wife, but he still is super excited and happy. And he has started going to the radio almost every day to announce that every Sunday at 8:30 our church has a meeting. We are going to invite him to read some scriptures from the Book of Mormon on the radio hah! He has such a sweet and humble heart. And it is amazing to see this Gospel changing his heart.

I think I have already said it tons of time, but one of my favorite things here about the mission is the change the gospel brings in the people we teach. And this is the beauty and hope of the Gospel. And all of this thanks to Jesus Christ and His Atonement. The fact that we can be better today than we were yesterday, and better tomorrow than we are today is such a HUGE blessing. Love you all, and hope you all have a great week!! Um abraço para todos!

96. I'll Never Be the Same

Hey everyone!  The past few months/weeks, I have received lots of questions like, "Joe, what did you get out of your mission?"...
