Back to the miracles. There is a family here that has had tons of missionaries work with them. The dad's name is Lucas, and his wife's name is Bianca. Lucas was baptized as a kid, but has been inactive for quite some time. His wife never was baptized, and they aren´t married. Tons of missionaries have tried to help them with their marriage and after, the baptism. Unfortunately they never were able to get married, so Bianca was never able to be baptized. The bishop asked us this week if we could visit them. We went over to their house later that night. As we knocked on their door Bianca opened the door and wasn´t very happy. We asked if we would be able to enter and be able to leave a little message with them. She said no, and then after told us it would be better if we didn´t return at all, and then shut the door. We both were pretty sad because Bianca and Lucas have so much potential, but we also knew that maybe they weren´t ready. We reported to the Bishop what had happened, and he said he was going to pass by the next day. The next day, we received a call from the bishop. He told us that he had recently been to their house, and it was a great visit. He said that Bianca wanted to apologize for saying everything, and then told us that they had made plans for the marriage for the 28th of March, and that Bianca wanted us to teach her all of the lessons. We both were so happy to hear this, and it was an awesome experience. The next day, they both were able to make it to church! We both are so happy to see them progressing again! This week we are going to start teaching her!
Unfortunately we weren´t able to find Maria this week in her house, so she wasn´t able to make it to church. We are going to keep returning, and hope to continue teaching her. This week was also filled with a lot of door knocking, as we are trying to strengthen our teaching group! Everything is great here, and it is still super hot. Every time it appears to be cooling down a bit, it gets hotter.
This week I studied a lot about the Atonement and Repentance again. It is probably my favorite topic to study. One of my favorite passages of scripture is D&C 58:42-43. It talks about repentance and the power of the atonement if we forsake and confess our sins. The power of the atonement is SOO real! We can use it every day in our lives! Never doubt that! Love you all!! Thank you for all of your support!
