24. So Calor!

What´s up everyone! It has been an awesome week here in the new area! The people are amazing, and the work has been great! But it is super hot!! Lots of sunburn, and a bit of dehydration, but nothing to worry about as a missionary! It has been great with my new companion also. He is already an amazing missionary, and is very excited and focused about the work! The other companionship in our ward/house is also great! We are working great together, and have been working effectively.

Where to start? The people here are amazing, and so humble. I think it was one of the first things that stood out to me. Was the humility of the people here. That is always a good attribute.

On Tuesday, we taught a woman named Aldimar. It was the second time we would be teaching her. She is very nice, and receptive, but wasn´t too interested as we finished up teaching the Restoration. We are going to return this week to see how she is.

On Wednesday, we taught a pastor from another church! He would not stop talking, and we kind of a lost a little time teaching him. However, he does have the real intent in finding out if this is the true church. We are praying that he will be able to recognize the answer. We are scheduled to return this next Wednesday. 

This week we also found a man named Rosnir. He is about 50 years old. He was originally a contact we made on the street. He was waiting for a bus, and we decided to talk to him. We were able to mark a date to stop by his house and talk to him. We went there on Thursday. We were able to teach the Restoration to him. Towards the end, he interrupted us telling us that he had something he wanted to say. He paused for a little, and then said "I want to be a Mormon!" Haha! He was so excited about it too! We challenged him to baptism, and he accepted the date for the 18th of February. We are excited for him, and he is even more excited. He also was able to make it to church yesterday.

Yesterday as I was sitting in Sacrament looking at all the new faces and people, I was able to feel a bit of God´s love for us. We aren´t capable of knowing completely his love for us, which says quite a bit. I also thought a lot about this scripture this week.. John 3:16.  For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  This scripture means a lot, and I invite you guys to ponder about this scripture this week. It will make a difference! Love you guys, thanks for all the prayers and support! It definitely makes a difference!
