Where to start? The golden family that I talked about last week is going to be baptized! We taught them the Restoration last Monday, and the Spirit was so strong! We challenged all three of them to be baptized, and we are going to set a date tonight! They made it to church yesterday, and it truly is exciting to see them progressing. We will take pictures with them tonight, so you guys will have to wait until next week, but they are awesome!
This week we were contacting in the street when we started talking to a sweet Christian lady. She lives with her husband and one child. We started talking about our purpose here being to invite others to come unto Christ. She has a strong belief and love for Christ. She actually has served a 2-month mission in Portugal! We were able to meet with her in her house later and teach her about the Restoration. She was very interested, but we could tell that she had some quesitons. She then asked, "How can I know what you're saying is true?" This is a question you love to hear as a missionary because it shows they have a desire to know. We then talked about the Holy Ghost and how she can ask Heavenly Father. We are going to return this week and follow up, and I am excitied to hear about her experience.
We also were able to hear from Presidente Costa this week! He is the Area President of Brasil! It was so awesome, and he bore a powerful testimony of the Savior. He talked about how we can be more Christ-like. If we aways think about the will of our Savior and his gospel in our decisions, and actions, we can immediately become more like him and closer to him. That is so true, and it is very important to remember the Savior in all times in our lives.
I have always loved the story of Enos. As we talked about repentance in one of our lessons this week, I shared the story of Enos. Enos had a true desire to repent and to change, so he received that remission of sins. I specifically like verses 6 and 7..
7. And I said: Lord, how is it done?
8. And he said unto me: Because of thy faith in Christ, whom thou hast never before heard, nor seen. And many years pass away before he shall manifest himself in the fless; wherefore, go to, thy faith hath made thee whole.
Enos had faith in Christ, so he received a remission of his sins. When we have faith in Christ we can receive a remission of sins, and also much more. Faith is the foundation of every gospel principle. When we excercise faith, Heavenly father will bless us.
Hope you all are doing great, and you are in my prayers, Happy Halloween!!
