Elder Nydegger Serves in Curitiba: 31. It's Raining!

Hey everybody! What a rainy and wet week it has been here. Since Monday it has been raining every day, and has started to cool down. But even with the rain, it was an awesome week doing the work of the Lord!

This week we spent most of our time knocking doors. We hardly were able to enter and leave any messages, but that isn´t getting us down! Sometimes the days can feel long as we feel like we aren´t having success, but then I remember how the Lord measures success in our efforts! If we can give all of our efforts to the Lord, we are going to be successful!

Even though we weren´t able to enter a lot, we were able to find a few people to teach. Last Monday, we were knocking doors, and started talking with a man name João. He started showing some interest, but told us that he wouldn´t be able to meet with us until the next Sunday. So yesterday we went back and were able to enter. He lives on a huge piece of property, and has tons of trees and fruits! It was beautiful. I didn´t have my camera, but the next time I will take a picture! He lives there with his family, and hasn´t gone to a church for a long time. He said he would like to learn more, so we are going to go back next Sunday!

We have continued to teach Lucas and Bianca, and they are continuing to come to church! It makes me so happy seeing their decisions to return to church. We taught the Plan of Salvation in our last lesson, and the spirit was strong. Made me so grateful to have a perfect gospel that gives us the knowledge of a Wonderful, Merciful God with a Wonderful Plan! We are praying for them that the marriage will go all right and that Bianca will be able to make the baptismal covenant with the Lord after!

On Thursday, we had planned a Ward Activity. We were excited because it would be a great experience and activity to help our investigators get to know some members! As we got to the church to set things up, the time started passing by, and no one showed up hah! It was kind of funny. We had planned this activity for the ward, but no one showed up! That´s okay though. This happens pretty frequently here.

On Saturday, we were able to participate in the baptism of the other Elders in the ward. It was a great experience!

There is a boy who is 9 years old here, his name is Felipe, and he has always gone to church with his grandma because his mom isn´t a member. She never would give him permission to be baptized, but she decided to let him be baptized because he has been begging her. We are hoping that he will be able to be baptized this Saturday. We are going to teach him a few lessons this week, and hopefully all will go well.

Anyway all is well down here. Lots of excitement for General Conference between us missionaries! How lucky are we to have the opportunity to hear God´s Prophets and Apostles? I hope everyone is enjoying the Spring! Love you all, have a great week!
