Well we received our new companions late on Tuesday night, and because our area is a longer travel, we had to sleep in Curitiba again! On Wednesday we woke up, and headed out. We arrived after lunch, and got right to work. Like I said in my last email, we are trying to grow our teaching pool, so we have been knocking a lot of doors! We also had a meeting with our Ward Mission Leader on Wednesday night. He is also a recent convert and a great example to me!
On Thursday, we had our district meeting for the week. Most of the district is staying here. Only one Elder and one Sister were transferred. We are working very effectively here, and are all happy and excited!
On Friday, we had a division. I went to Matinhos with Elder Garzon, where we did some baptismal interviews, and Elder Silva stayed here with Elder Dos Anjos. It was awesome. Mathinhos is about an hour away by bus, and is right next to the beach. We were able to see the beach which was cool, but even better was the excitedness of the people who were going to be baptized!
On Saturday, we spent almost the whole day knocking. We were able to find a women named Annie. She expressed to us her difficulties of finding a church/religion where she fits in. She told us that she has already been to tons of churches, and hasn´t found one for her. We are confident that the Lord and the Spirit will help her understand that this is the true church. We also were able to participate in the baptism of the other Elders! There is always such a sweet spirit in baptisms, and it was a great experience, especially for Elder Silva to witness the first baptism on the mission!
This week I focused my studies on the stories of Christ when he visited the Nephites, found in 3 Nephi. I really like how Christ organized his teachings. He started testifying of the Atonement, and how it was done and completed. He then talked about how we can truly come to receive all of the blessings that the Plan of Salvation offers through the Atonement of Christ. He does this by teaching the Doctrine of Christ. It was cool studying and thinking about how all of these principles and doctrines are linked and bound with the Atonement. The atonement is powerful!
Overall this was a great week, and I am loving my opportunity out here. The work is great, and the gospel is perfect! Amo vocês!
